Marios Schwab

Marios Schwab

The Marios Schwab collection could be summed up with the phrase, ‘cut out and pull through', but if this sounds a bit Blue Peter, don't be fooled: the deceptively sophisticated fabrics are what we have come to expect of Schwab, who was last year's Swiss Textiles Award winner. Fitted, ankle-length jersey dresses were cut to reveal denim or rubber fabric poking through, giving the original garment a whole new shape. Another dress was crafted to look like a piece of paper which has been ravaged by fire, with only blackened curlicues left. But this wasn't all about flights of fancy: this being uncertain times, the designer clearly has his eye on the bottom line, with some wearable and sharply tailored winter coats.
