With leggings finally dying a death, there are now some great ways to clad your legs this season. Miuccia Prada came up with the most novel... footless socks! Winter pedicures all round then, ladies.

The footless socks come in gorgeous colours, lilac and black, camel and blue or egg-yolk yellow and purple. They are almost like football socks, and will brighten up a grey dress in a jiffy.  Bag a pair and you will look so this season that it hurts!

Another new hosiery trend are skights, a cross between ski-pants and tights. They are the perfect new way to cover up your legs for winter. Either wear the stirrup version or pull extra-long leggings down under your heel and wear with a pair of killer stilettos.

If that is all a bit much, just experiment with colour. Bright block colours will give a new-season slant to any outfit.

Be brave, be bold - just watch out for frostbite in your toes...
