  Loulou de la Falaise, YSL & Betty Catroux, 1978A clutch bags spells elegance.  And, while we're at it, so does YSL.  The designer himself pointed out however ‘we must never confuse elegance with snobbery'.  Despite his close associations with the bourgeois of society (his long term collaborator and muse Loulou de la Falaise, left, for instance was the daughter of a Count) Saint Laurent's designs were never flashy but rather understated, simplistic and chic.
This clutch bag, available online at Browns, is illustrative of the YSL ethos of less being more yet would be the addition that lends the all-important wow factor to any outfit.
