Handbag of the week: Chanel
31 Rue Cambon bag, available from Chanel. By Jemma Tibbals
This playful Chanel shopper sent the fashion team Coco loco as soon as we saw it toted down the spring/summer catwalk. The runway itself was a homage to the location of Coco Chanel's first boutique, 31 Rue Cambon in Paris, with an outer façade of the head-quarters and then a street runway for its Chanel clad pedestrians.
Novelty handbags rarely reside at the top of any clued-up girl's must-have list, but for the Chanel faux shopping bag surely we can make an exception
The ss09 catwalk. At first glance it looks like a regular Chanel carrier but it's in fact made from leather. It is this fun and frivolous injection into Chanel's classic (and adored) aesthetic that keeps the 98-year-old fashion house relevant and an indisputable favourite of clued-up girls everywhere.
