Burberry a/w 08/09
Christopher Bailey sent out a gorgeously styled show for Burberry, with oversize coats and skintight, boot-cut trousers with knife edge creases down the front. The oversize coats, in heavy tweeds and wool, came with a rounded shoulder; beanie hats elevated the mood to one of youthful cool, synonymous with the image the brand projects in its ads shot by Mario Testino. It was also the chance to show off what will surely be one of next season's It bags: a squashy leather day bag, with visible stitching and metal eyelets.
