Why go?

CORE is a unique offering in the heart of the financial district, bringing the perfect location for breakfast, lunch, dinner and after work drinks.

If you're into quirky decor, a relaxed atmos and service with a smile, then CORE bar is for you.

The interior reminds us of a New York city local with subway tiling (we love), sleek lighting, off-the-wall decor and an array of interesting, secluded spots to chill.

Particular highlights include, an extensive cocktail list and a full menu designed to bring the buzz of NYC to London.

Eat?

With a vast menu of top-notch bar food, it was a tough choice...poor us.

But with the direction of the super helpful Dominic and Giles, we were well on our way to satisfying our empty tummies with some good grub.

From the yummy tasting platter consisting of lamb pittas, chorizo rolls, fish cakes, Welsh rarebit, and the crispy battered fish fingers to the creamy goats cheese topped, portobello mushroom burger, we got a little bit of everything and they didn't disappoint.

The rosemary salted chips, in particular, were out of this world.

And if you're looking for something even more filling, check out their "Big Plates" section, where you'll find things like a Flat Iron steak with lemon herb oil...need we say anymore.

Drink?

Their Brew&Brew menu supplement includes an extensive selection of craft beers, coffee for the caffeine fiends and even a cocktail to mix the two, like a delish Coco Frappe (perfect as a digestif).

We tasted their Kiwi Sangria which was super quenching and moreish to boot (warning: you may drink a few too many of these) and red wine which was perfect with the munchies.

Other cocktails to note, are the Jelly Beanz and Bitter Summer Spritz, both as refreshing as they sound.

Other fun info

The bar turns into a club in the evenings, which is great for those whose lazy after-work drinks have turned rapidly into a night on the tiles.

Reserve a table, with no bottle to buy and get ready to enjoy yourself with great music into the wee hours.

And with live music during the week, the place is always buzzing.

Did someone say party?
