Coffee, alcohol & cream? Why they're three of our favourite things.

Irish coffee with whisky for St Patrick's Day
Pouring alcohol into coffee is just common sense really. But with St Patrick's Day on Monday, you have a legitimate reason to do it. Huzzah.

Irish Coffee Recipe

Makes 2

INGREDIENTS

  • Freshly made coffee to fill 2 glasses
  • 2 tbsp Irish Whiskey (or to taste)
  • 2 tbsp double cream (or to taste)
  • Dessert biscuits to serve

METHOD

Make coffee to preference - you could even use a good quality instant coffee if you like.

Pour into Irish Coffee Glasses and add whiskey to taste. Carefully top with cream so it floats on top.

The classic way to do this is to pour the cream over an inverted dessert spoon held over the top of the coffee.

Serve with dessert biscuits.
