Waitrose will start selling the Japanese citrus fruit hailed as the new superfood. But why is it so good for you?

The latest hero superfood fruit Yuzu has landed in the UK, and it's making us rethink our allegiance to the blueberry.

Yuzu, a Japanese citrus fruit popular across Asia is winging its way to the supermarkets of Britain, and is being hailed as the new must eat health food thanks to the high levels of vitmain C.

The tangerine lookalike has three times as much vitamin C as a lemon and tastes like a lime and grapefruit mash-up (and from our Asian adventures, we can confirm it tastes amazing in ice cream).

Unfortunately it will not be appearing in fruit form. Gutted. Waitrose will be selling it as one of their Cooks' Ingredients juices, at an eye watering £4.59 for a 60ml bottle.

Come back blueberries, all is forgiven.
