McDonald's have made a shock announcement, wait for it, there will be no more Heinz ketchup served in their stores.

Oh the humanity!

But don't worry, there will be ketchup eventually, just not that produced by Heinz, after the condiments company has hired the former head of Burger King, Bernardo Hees, as their new Chief Executive.

The move will end a relationship with the sauce company going back 40 years.

However this will only really hamper the burger eating of us Brits as Heinz disappeared from most American outlets in the 1970s as the company couldn't meet demands.

In the States, most McDonald's instead serve something called 'fancy ketchup.' Does that mean it is in no way fancy? Like when people call things 'trendy' or 'hip'. Time will tell.

"As a result of recent management changes at Heinz, we have decided to transition our business to other suppliers over time," explained the fast food giant. "We have spoken to Heinz and plan to work together to ensure a smooth and orderly transition."

Will the removal of Heinz ketchup stop you going to McDonalds?
