In the words of that famous philosopher, Britney Spears, "I'm not a girl, not yet a woman", and it seems the cast of The Only Way is Essex understand this life predicament.
In a particularly bitchy episode of the spin-off show, The Only Way is Vegas, Chloe Sims unleashed her nasty side and mocked Lucy Mecklenburgh, claiming she is nothing more than a silly little girl. Ouch.

Speaking to Lauren Pope, Mario Falcone and her brother Charlie, Chloe slammed Lucy saying, "You're a woman, she's a girl."
Lauren said, "She can't fathom that two people haven't slept together because she sleeps with everyone."
Basically, there's a whole load of back story with Lucy accusing Lauren of sleeping with her ex-Mario and so on and so forth, but this got us thinking - since when did being brandished a 'girl' seem like such an insult?!
Essentially, the connotation is that all girls are silly, reckless and prone to making stupid decisions...probably not far off, but still.
If the ideal is 'being a woman', what does this even mean? How can we strive for this perfect ideal of womanhood without descending into Miss Susie Housewife circa 1955?
