Following our own cooking mantra of 'if in doubt, just add booze', a chef in Boston has created the vodka pizza.
Messing with the natural order of things - Salvatore's restaurant in America created the new 'Vignola cherry pizza', with toppings of prosciutto, blue cheese, honey, mozzarella and vodka steeped cherries.
The new inspired dish is so alcoholic, you have to show your ID before you're allowed to order, as the alcohol doesn't burn off in cooking.
Head chef Victor Paone came up with the creation while wrestling with some dried cherries - as you do. 'We cooked them, and they were too tough. Obviously, we had to soak them a little, so I decided to soak them in raspberry vodka,' he explained. You don't have to justify it to us Victor.
It has proved a massive hit - obviously - so the pizzeria has also created two more boozed-up offerings. The 'Drunken Pig' pizza has braised pork marinated in Kahlua, caramelised apples, spicy honey and ricotta. Not to be outdone, the 'Calabria Peach' is topped with rum-soaked peaches, marscapone, basil and mozzarella.
Oh look at that, we're dribbling.
