Pippa Middleton can just not get a break. The other Middleton sister has been causing a stir in her new role as Waitrose Kitchen's celebrity columnist, by writing a lavish & expensive guide to the perfect picnic.
Already bruised from her ridiculed party planning book, Pippa gave advice in her latest column for the supermarket magazine on how to have the perfect Provencal Picnic.
On the menu for Pippa's lunch on the grass was peach and vanilla fizz, a fig and goat's cheese fougasse, smoked chicken and melon salad and strawberry and lavender cheesecake jars.
Sounds pretty delicious, however the sum total of the ingredients came to £99.57, according to the Daily Mail's calculations.
A spokesperson for Waitrose said they'd worked the menu out to cost £57.13 saying the Daily Mail had chosen 'many of the expensive options' and that many customers would already have items like caster sugar and sea salt in their store cupboards.
Guys, whether it's £100 or £60 – it's still a tad more pricey than a couple of scotch eggs and a bag of crisps.
The Duchess of Cambridge's sister wrote, 'Here's my vision of the perfect picnic. I'm in Provence, in a field just off the beaten track, where we've parked the car and thrown a quilted rug across the dry, parched grasses.
'Around us are plump peaches, figs and strawberries, oozing ripe cheeses and crunchy baguettes, torn and ready to mop up every last morsel.'
Pippa, who replaced Delia Smith, has come under criticism from newspapers and customers alike for being out of touch.
It seems people are just not Pippa fans. What do you think? Is everyone being unfair or do you think she's missing the mark?
