Normally beer is the cheap option that you'll drink at a garden party, but now the starch and sugar combo is climbing to the top of cocktail menus across the country.
The trend for beer cocktails initially started in the US, but now it's making its way to British pubs and bars, most notably London's Tap East, Hawksmoor and Meat Liquor, Leeds legendary North Bar and Manchester's Love, Liquor and Burn.
At the Hawksmoor in London try the Shaky Pete's Ginger Brew, made of Gin, home-made Ginger syrup and Lemon juice, topped with London Pride.
If you're further north, make a date for the The Brooklyn Baltic at North Bar in Leeds, made from Brooklyn Brewery's Black Chocolate Stout, Kahlua, Frangelico and Maldon Sea Salt.
