It's day three of International Flirting Week (13-19 February) and we're celebrating with a whole host of flirting statistics, tips and advice from Zoosk.co.uk and flirting expert and social anthropologist, Jean Smith.
Today's top tip is all about being confident, feeling comfortable and learning to understand his smile...
Flirting tip of the day: Look confident, feel confident
Healthy relationships often begin with healthy flirting, but to do that you need to be willing to speak to people and display your inner confidence.
Although flirting techniques differ around the world most people agree that flirting should be playful fun, not aggressive or embarrassing. 26% of women swear by banter and light hearted jokes to attract a partner and the research shows it actually works (especially when coupled with a suggestive look favoured by 25% of male flirters!).
Body language expert and Invisalign ambassador, Judi James, believes that a confident smile can tell you a lot about what he's thinking.
A symmetrical smile that starts from the eyes and shows teeth will be the real deal so keep a look out for this. This type of smile shows genuine attraction and shows they are comfortable in your company. Be wary of an unnatural, over-performed smile as this could be masking boredom.
Women tend to over-groom when preparing for an evening out in order to boost their confidence, which is more likely to make you feel more uncomfortable. The trick is to stick to clothes that you feel comfortable in so you're not constantly worrying about how you look.
Remember, people are attracted to confidence, even if you're not feeling great on the inside you can outwardly project confidence by standing tall with your head held high and your shoulders back. These physiological indicators will send out signals to those around you.
