Calcium may help to reduce menstrual pain because it helps to maintain healthy muscle tone. According to the University of Maryland Medical Centre, the evidence isn't clear, but one study found that calcium did reduce menstrual pain. However a different study found that calcium reduced premenstrual pain but stopped helping once a woman's period starts. Worth a try though right?
