If you think you're in charge of your love life, think again, because we're all completely and utterly under the influence of our brain hormones.
But is it possible to trick our brains to produce the hormones that aid our libido? Well, according to sexpert, Tracey Cox, the answer is YES!
Here are the three ways that you can give your horny hormones a boost...
1. Take chances
Seeking thrills and new experiences is one sure fire way to make your brain produce epinephrine and norepinephrine (that induce excitement) and dopamine (that causes feelings of pleasure, motivation and concentration). Think outside the box and set yourselves new challenges, especially those with an element of naughtiness or danger. The rush of adrenaline will make your sex life feel more intense.
2. Don't spend every second together
If you have sex with and see your partner all the time, there's no need for dopamine, which causes feelings of infatuation and lust. You won't have to work hard to feel some kind of sexual reward, which takes all the excitement out of the relationship.
3. Argue occasionally
Make-up sex after an argument is a massive turn-on because anger stimulates the production of adrenaline and dopamine. A big row automatically puts your relationship 'at risk', which makes your brain appreciate the person you almost 'lost'.
