Always wondered how someone could give up bacon and go veggie? We may have found the answer.

New research suggests that soy, which is often used as a meat replacement in vegetarian cooking, is rich in 'sex hormones' that can heighten sexual activity.

Some experts are even arguing that tofu should be added to the list of aphrodisiacs because of its influence on hormones.

The research, published in the Hormones and Behaviour Journal, is the first to discover the connection between 'sex hormones' phytoestrogens (found in plants) and behaviour in mammals.

But don't expect your man to swap his steaks for soy any time soon.

Recent studies have shown that men believe eating meat makes them more manly, and that red meat is linked with manhood, power and virility.
