We spent our Saturday in the Louder Lounge at V Festival, hobnobbing with celebrities and catching some of our favourite bands

The Killers at V FestivalOn Saturday handbag.com headed for Chelmsford to hang out in the VIP Virgin Media Louder Lounge at V Festival and to listen to some amazing live acts on the four main stages.

Having arrived at the festival it suddenly became apparent what an epic event V Festival actually is. To get a taste of the action, we walked through the crowds to find the Virgin Media Louder Lounge, which was near the main stage, and perfect for realising that your favourite act was on while you celeb-spot.

Trying to act nonchalantly, we spotted Myleene Klass playing with her adorable daughter, Jodie Harsh chatting animatedly to friends at the bar, Angelica Bell enjoying a drink, Rosie Huntington-Whitely (flashing legs you would die for) and Tyrone Woods strolling around hand-in-hand, Charlotte Church and her gal pals having a giggle with no Gavin Henson in sight, Gemma Arterton looking fresh-faced, The Saturdays, VV Brown, and Angela Griffin taking a break from the crowds with her hubby.

Aside from the mingling with celebrities we managed to catch an energetic, and svelte looking, Lily Allen on stage, who got the excited crowd singing along to F**k You Very Much and It’s Not Fair, before telling the crowd the cricket score and launching into Smile. The Script played an awesome set, and the cheeky Irish lads kept up the banter between themselves and the crowd the whole time – this is one band that I’ll never tire of seeing live, Danny’s just so good-looking! The atmosphere as The Killers headlined on Saturday night was electric, the Las Vegas boys drew the biggest crowd we had seen yet and started off with Human, setting the perfect tone for the rest of their act. But the highlight of the day had to be Miss Amy Winehouse stepping out on stage with The Specials and making her first UK performance in over a year, joining the band for a medley of You’re Wondering Now and Ghost Town.  She was looking and sounding great, and the crowd went mental.

After all of that we were officially pooped, and plan on spending the next 12 months preparing ourselves for V Festival 2010. Tickets are on sale now, so get in there quick.
