True Blood
True Blood is the next big TV show from America
Anna Paquin stars in HBO’s latest hit drama series True Blood, on the FX Channel, which looks set to win the heart of British audiences. Based on Charlaine Harris’s Southern Vampire Mysteries and adapted by Six Feet Under writer Alan Ball, True Blood is full of sex, violence and promises to be anything but dull.
True Blood follows the story of Sookie (Anna Paquin), a telepathic barmaid who falls for Bill, one of her punters, only to discover that he’s a vampire. Luckily, Bill can survive without biting humans by drinking Japanese-made synthetic blood, which means that love can flourish between the mind-reading barmaid and the neck-biting undead. We can’t wait!
And, as if you need any other reasons to watch True Blood, here are four:
Jason Stackhouse, played by Ryan Kwanten: The show’s good-looking redneck who methodically works his way though every attractive woman in the Bon Temps bar.
Bill Compton, played by Stephen Moyer: The 173-year-old vampire who seduces Anna Paquin’s Sookie Stackhouse.
Sam Merlotte, played by Sam Trammell: Sookie’s employer and close friend, who may not be all that he seems.
Eric Northman, played by Alexander Skarsgard: The hunky and mysterious vampire who owns the vampire bar Fantasia, where he manipulates and dominates humans and vampires alike.
True Blood is on on Friday nights from 9pm on the FX Channel
