The Bourne Ultimatum on DVD
Matt Damon returns to the big screen as the super sexy Jason Bourne
Starring: Matt Damon, Julia Stiles, Albert Finney
Directed by: Paul Greengrass
(12A), 115 mins, 2007, United States
What’s the story?
Jason Bourne is still a man on a mission – a mission to discover his real identity and what turned him into the assassin whose life he continually has flashbacks to. While trying to get to the bottom of his seemingly endless mystery – this follows The Bourne Identity and Bourne Supremacy - he is being chased around the globe, from Moscow to Morocco, by the CIA who is determined to silence him.
Who’s in it?
Matt Damon, who says he won’t play Jason Bourne again, is excellent as our hero while also good are returning cast Julia Stiles and Joan Allen. Paddy Considine plays a British journo who may be able to help him on his quest to find the truth.
Best bit
The non-stop action, intelligent screenplay and superb direction from United 93 director Paul Greengrass result in a classy thriller that’s a pure adrenaline rush.
Worst bit
There are a few plot holes and incredulous moments – Bourne would surely be dead by now, he’s suffered so much - but that’s half the fun.
Extras
Deleted scenes, audio commentary by director Paul Greengrass, and five interesting featurettes.
