Singstar Summer Party (PS2)
We review the latest Singstar release from Sony.
Review by Jessica Hopper
As if the other Singstar editions didn't give you enough to cringe about the morning after, those generous peeps at PlayStation have created the ideal drunken summer BBQ soundtrack to squeal and squawk along to. Same formula - cheesier playlist. There are a few welcome classics from the likes of Blur, Pulp (summer 1994 has never sounded sooo bad as when I'm singing along!) and Blondie, but the mix is so eclectic it's probable you'll only like around five songs on the 30-heavy track list. Yazz and Chesney Hawkes aren't welcome in my living room even when I'm seeing through Pinot, and the presence of Plain White Ts' Hey There Deliliah is just plain bizarre. Having said that, it is fun and a must-have for fans/collectors of the Singstars.
