Celeb haunt gets a refunk

funkybuddhaLondon's Mayfair and members' clubs go together like a Wag to a shopping bag, but despite all the new kids on the block, funkybuddha has still managed to draw in famous faces thanks to its laid back vibe, opulent Eastern-inspired décor and glam crowd.

But this isn't a place to rest on its laurels; a half a million pound refurbishment unveiled this month promises more Eastern delight. Upon entering, members and guests will descend funkybuddha's spiral stairway into five chambers of happiness decorated in shades of aubergine, chocolate and black, while inhaling the aroma of burning incense.

Top-notch champers and spirits can be ordered from the colour-changing granite and crystal bar and, if the club's smiling Buddhas are showering you with good karma, you might even make it behind the walls of cascading water into the ‘private inner temple' (that's VIP area to you and me) to rub shoulders with honorary members including Gwen Stefani, Lewis Hamilton and Nellee Hooper.

funkybuddha relaunches 10 October. For more information on membership visit www.fblondon.co.uk
