Look at the pretty lights
This Christmas there are an abundance of alternative festive light shows and arty installations springing up across the countryside that shouldn't be missed. In Liverpool, internationally renowned French artist
Franck Scurti has been commissioned to design a series of
striking light installations for Kirkdale, Kensington and Garston. In London Anya Gallaccio, a former Turner Prize nominee has been commissioned by The Hayward to create a new display of festive lights while David Batchelor's popular display
Festival Remix has returned to the Southbank Centre. In Bristol you can take an evening stroll through an
Enchanted Wood (until 23 December), and there will also be
a week of light shows around across the city between 17 and 21 December. In the north east don't miss
Northumberland Lights 2007, which will feature various guerrilla lighting events across the region, and in Newcastle, make sure you check out this year's
