21 events not to be missed in 2008
Where: The Garage, 20 Highbury Corner, London, N5
Since opening in 1993, The Garage has become a celebrated venue for fledgling bands hoping to establish themselves as mainstream acts. Over the years The Garage has seen early performances from the likes of Radiohead, Oasis and Arctic Monkeys, and has now become something of a rite of passage for indie and rock bands both in the UK and in the States. Now under new management, the club has had a £1m refurbishment to increase its capacity, add a new sound system and various other cosmetic lifts. To reopen with a bang, indie-rock outfit Cud will be getting the party started, with more acts to be announced soon.
