Before The X Factor: Olly worked in an office, advising people how to cut their energy bills. Imagine that voice answering the phone to you!
The story so far: Olly wowed the judges with his performance of Superstition at his first audition, with Simon saying it was the easiest yes I have ever given. At Bootcamp Ollys performance of Elton Johns Your Song left the judges feeling a bit cold and Simon was frustrated that the Essex Geezer hadnt taken more of a risk. At Simons house in Los Angeles Olly impressed Sinitta, but Simon still wasnt sure. When the moment of truth came, Simon said, Youre a risk. But sometimes I need to take risks.
Known for: His dancing and his cheeky chappy antics, making Olly a bit of a sex symbol.

Joe McElderry:
Age: 18
From: South Shields
Before the X Factor: Joe was a student in South Shields. Entering karaoke competitions made him realise that he was actually quite good at this singing malarkey. So he decided to go all the way and audition for The X Factor.
The story so far: Joe won the hearts of the judges at his first audition with his rendition of Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross. Joe gave his mentor Cheryl and Will Young a performance of Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word to try to win a place in the live finals. They both loved it but Cheryl had to put aside any personal preference towards the teenager when deciding whether to put him through.
Known for: Being Cheryls favourite theyre both from South Shields and already singing the winners song Dont Stop Believing. Could that mean that its already in the bag for Joe?
