Pantene have just launched their new female empowering women campaign, all in the name of shampoo.

Following on from the hotly debated Dove ads, Pantene have just released a new ad campaign focusing on female empowerment and trying to get women to stop apologising all the time.

The campaign urges women to be more confident and not say sorry. A good message, no doubt. However brands trying to empower women in the name of flogging shampoo just doesn't sit right with everyone.

It has come under intense scrutiny today via the interweb, with Twitter critics chiming in:


Other have raised the issue that adverts like this shift the blame of female inequality onto women themselves.

But there is a lot of support for it: But the even bigger question is, will campaigns like succeed and get you to buy their shampoo?
