Last year's X Factor winner is known to love a feud but it looks like a digital scuffle with comedian Frankie Boyle has pushed him over the edge.
In response to James's digs at One Direction, Frankie Boyle joked that: "To be fair to James Arthur, he only has a problem with 1D because they remind him of his GCSE results."
The argument escalated and then James apologised to his legion of fans(!) before signing off and handing control of the account over to his team.
@JamesArthur23 Well you look like a post-op Miley Cyrus, so why not get it on? Oh, that's right, because of your rampant homophobia.— Frankie Boyle (@frankieboyle) November 16, 2013
#LOVE to my fans but I'm coming off twitter for good. HQ will be doing all my tweets from now on. PEACE!— James Arthur (@JamesArthur23) November 16, 2013
James had to apologise last week after using homophobic slurs in a rap battle (yes, this really happened) and being genuinely perplexed that anybody could take offence at being labelled a "f**king queer".
I just have to say I'm extremely disappointed in myself for being so naive with the diss track I made for an unknown rapper recently..— James Arthur (@JamesArthur23) November 16, 2013
Some of the things said in this rap can be mistaken for homophobic slurs and I assure you homophobia is something I do not believe in— James Arthur (@JamesArthur23) November 16, 2013
Perhaps not the best way to win the public over when you have a new album out, Jarthur.
Deeply deeply sorry to any gay or lesbian people out there.— James Arthur (@JamesArthur23) November 16, 2013
Anyway, you can listen to James doing a bit of singing by pressing play below if you fancy it.
