SPOILER ALERT

Last night David Suchet said farewell to his most well known role, Hercule Poirot.

Audiences were shocked as he used his knowledge and insight to conceal the killer - himself!

As praise and sadness streamed in over Twitter, the actor took to the site to thank fans for all their support over the years.

But it seemed there were some bright sparks at the BBC who weren't quite ready to let go.

This morning the show had a very special guest, Belgian detective Hercule Poirot.

Needless to say it was weird.

Others were equally unimpressed, one wrote, "Could have done without the Poirot interview myself...."

While another wrote, "@BBCRadio4 mysterious music over a straight-faced interview with a person not only fictional but also dead? Oh come on! #Poirot"
