Bieber has financially backed this selfie app, but it seems a bit pointless...

An app just for sharing selfies has been launched, and Justin Bieber is to blame. Of course.

Shots of Me is cashing on the selfie phenomenon and Bieber has thrown fists full of money at the launch (guesses are around £691,000 but who's counting?)

So how does it work?

Well, we're not going to draw you a picture, but basically it's Instagram - but only with people posting pictures of themselves.

According to the founders at RockLive it takes the same format, but sans the pictures of "coffee or salad".

Maybe we're being a bit old about all this nonsense - but surely you can just unfollow the people who post pictures of salad on Instagram and just focus on those who merrily share your vain selfie sharing lifestyle? Just sayin'.

Now leave us alone with our wireless set and slippers.
