When the Christmas adverts hit TV, you know the festive countdown has begun. So, how have this year's efforts gone down?

Here are the best, worst, and down right mushiest Christmas adverts of 2013...

John Lewis - The bear and the hare


John Lewis embrace classic Disney films and Animals of Farthing Wood for their weep fest of an animated Christmas advert. No products, just lots of tears.



M&S Christmas Advert with Rosie Huntington-Whiteley


Models Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and David Gandy do Alice in Winter Wonderland for Marks and Spencer.



Morrison's Christmas advert with Ant & Dec


Lots of dancing food, a classic Disney song and PJ and Duncan.

The budget supermarket wraps up brussel sprouts and give them to kids, who seem pretty chuffed by the whole thing.
