The boys recently confirmed their new album Midnight Memories will be out sooner than we think and Pharrell has revealed that he's in discussion with them.

Speaking to the Sunday Mirror, he said: "We are definitely talking. From what I've heard of their new stuff I'm pleasantly surprised. Their new stuff is definitely a progression and an elevation. I will hopefully be getting involved as we are definitely in talks."

With Pharrell being behind some of the biggest hits this year - including Daft Punk's 'Get Lucky' and Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' - we're sure a song with one of the biggest boy bands on the planet will storm the charts.

A source added: "One Direction want their third album to be their most successful yet and Pharrell is definitely the man to help them achieve this."
