Chris Brown has threatened to stop making music after he turned himself in to police Monday where he spent 45 minutes in jail over his ongoing hit-and-run case.

In an now-deleted Twitter rant, he said that he was 'tired of being famous', referencing his assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009, and not because of his 'music and talent'.

He wrote, "Being famous is amazing when it's for ur music and talent. I'm tired of being famous for a mistake I made when i was 18. I'm cool & over it!" (sic)

The 24-year-old singer also suggested he'll retire from music completely after his upcoming album, X, is released in the US on 20 August.

"Don't worry mainstream America. After this X album, it'll probably be my last album," he added.

Not having the best run of luck recently, Chris has been in more trouble with the law after being involved in a hit-and-run and an alleged assault of a woman in a nightclub.

Since then, his six-year probation from Rihanna was revoked in July and the two briefly reconciled before splitting up (again).
