And if current coach Will.i.am has anything to do with it, Cheryl Cole could soon be snapping up one of those swinging chairs.
It's no secret that Will.i.am has a massive crush on the 30-year-old Geordie - not only have they collaborated on a number of hits, including Heartbreaker and 3 Words, but he's also Cheryl's former manager.
Praising her "likeability", he said, "Cheryl has been very successful on music talent shows in the past. She is great with the contestants and really gives everything to them. But also the audience loves her, which is so important on these shows, you need to be likeable.
"She has been concentrating on other things, but I could see her getting back into a talent show for sure. She would have offers from The UK and The US - but she would be perfect for The Voice."
Cheryl has previous experience working on a music talent show as she used to be a judge on ITV's The X Factor from 2008-2011. She then made the move to the American version for three weeks before former boss and pal Simon Cowell fired her.
But Will.i.am thinks this would be the perfect role for the Girls Aloud member.
Will.i.am added, "I love working with her, so it would be a pleasure for me. She is such a perfectionist in everything she does, so we will just have to see what happens."
