After partying for four days in the run up to the ceremony – the pair said 'I do' surrounded by 50 of their closest friends and family in a 14th century gothic castle.
E! reports the couple of rockers wed at Château de la Napoule in the town of Mandelieu, and said their vows just outside the castle in a courtyard overlooking the stunning French coast.
Avril apparently picked the South of France as she spends a lot of time in Paris and likes to take her holidays in Cannes. 'She's very immersed in French food, ambiance and culture. It's her favourite place to be,' a source reports.
The intimate destination wedding (which took place on Canada Day of course) saw guests tuck into a buffet of locally caught lobster, sea bass and beef and drink their way through free flowing Laurent-Perrier champagne.
Fireworks kicked off the evening bash, which saw a DJ spinning tunes until 6am. Guests with the staying power were treated to an early morning brunch.
A source told E!, 'It was certainly a rock and roll wedding. They've been partying for the past four days straight with a final wedding party brunch today before they go off on their honeymoon.'
The source adds, 'Everyone's had the best time. Avril and Chad are thrilled it's all gone so well.'
Congrats to the happy couple!
