It looks like The X Factor judges are being extra tough on groups this year, with X Factor bosses having to hold some last minute auditions at the Price Studios in London today.

The reason for the lack of groups? Apparently, judges Gary Barlow and Sharon Osbourne are being way too fussy, only sending through those who they feel have the potential to win the whole show.

Yep, the mean team seem to be on the hunt for the next big group - set to join One Direction and Little Mix in the X Factor hall of fame.

Unlike Louis and Nicole, it seems that the frightening duo aren't afraid of being too harsh on the acts.

A source told The Sun, "Sharon and Gary are teaming up against lacklustre talent - and without the arena audience being there to persuade them as in previous years, not many acts are making it through.

"Ideally, they want to get groups that have been together a while and have got chemistry, rather than having to make their own. Nicole and Louis are more open to the idea of developing the acts."

Any groups heading through, we wish you luck. It sounds like you're going to need it!

What do you think of the judging panel this year? Will Gary and Sharon be trouble?
