Daft Punk's 'Random Access Memories' has entered the charts in the top spot and managed to secure the title of 2013's fastest seller.
"After the massive success of their first official UK number one single 'Get Lucky', it is little surprise that Daft Punk have also secured their first official number one album in the UK, too," said a spokesman for The Official Chart Company.
Selling more than 165,000 copies this week, Daft Punk managed to knock Rod Stewart's album into second place.
But now for the really exciting news: Emeli Sandé's 'Our Version of Events' is finally out of the top ten. Don't get us wrong: it's a lovely album, but it's been in the top 10 for more than a year now. Sixty-six weeks, actually, but who's counting? It's still the best-selling album of 2013 so we can't imagine Emeli Sandé's too cut up about it.
Daft Punk, on the other hand, should be feeling on top of the world as they can now add a UK number one single and album to their list of accolades.
