The Spice Girls musical, Viva Forever!, will close next month, after just seven months in production.

The musical opened in November last year and was initially extended until February 2014 but cast members were told on Wednesday that the show will stop production in eight weeks.

We're just a bit gutted because despite being panned by critics, fans seemed to love the show as did the Spice Girls Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Melanie Brown, Melanie Chisholm and Emma Bunton.

Apparently the early closure of the show will result in losses of at least £5million which is never nice to see.

Geri Halliwell didn't address the news directly, but she did tweet, "Unexpected ... 'good' & 'bad', feeling dunno - sometimes things just happen".

Did you see the show? Are you sad to see it go?
