In a down-to-earth look at eco and green living, Jessica Alba says her new book aims to make it easy to live an environmentally friendly lifestyle without having to go 'off the grid.'
Released last week, The Honest Life aims to be a guide to just about anything from food, beauty, household products and parenting – all with an environmental and people friendly approach.
'When I was pregnant, I wanted to eliminate any potential health risks, so I was searching for green products at the time, but it was all so confusing. I realised that a lot of those products had brown or beige packaging, but in the end, they were really just better for the planet, but not for people,' the actress told E!
Deciding to fill the gap in the market, she launched The Honest Company, a feel-good line of body, home and baby products that promote a green lifestyle.
With her new book, Alba hopes to pass on everything she's learnt in an easy guide that includes DIY projects, recipes and gives a shout out to her favourite green brands.
'I always thought that being healthy or green or eco or whatever was an extreme lifestyle. I'm not a vegan, I don't live off the grid, I don't wear hemp every day. I don't have time!'
'I have two jobs, I have two kids, I have a husband, friends and family to care about. I have so much to do in my life, and all I want to do is make healthier choices that are realistic and inexpensive.'
All sounds pretty sensible to us Jess.
And next in line? Taking on the world of cosmetics, 'It's a little bit of a dream of mine to start my own makeup line one day filled with high-performing products that are good for you and inexpensive.'
Watch this leafy green space.
