Newlywed Crystal Harris is auctioning off her wedding dress for charity, in honour of her husband Hugh Hefner's long-time secretary, Mary O'Connor.
O'Connor worked as Hefner's secretary for more than 40 years and was seen as the housemother of the Playboy mansion, taking care of Hefner's girls and acting like 'a therapist' to many of them, according to former Playboy bunny, Kendra Wilkinson.
Distraught Harris tweeted, 'I am auctioning my wedding dress with @charitybuzz to raise money for lymphoma in memory of Mary.'
The strapless pink bridal gown by designer Romona Keveza is valued at an estimated $7,500 and was worn by the bride on her New Year's Eve wedding to the 86-year-old Playboy mogul. The money raised will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Hefner is said to be 'devasted' by the loss and credited O'Conner with reconciling him with Harris after their dramatic on/off relationship.
Mary O'Connor died on Sunday 29 January at the age of 84, after a 'short illness' according to a statement issued on a Facebook page set up in her memory.
Fans of reality show The Girls Next Door, an American series following the ongoings in the mansion, shared their condolences online.
