Remember how funny Jessica Simpson used to be on Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica? Well it seems the singer is going to be back on our screens in a new sitcom based on her life.
The NBC network announced the news about their brand new show which not only star Jessica but is also based on her life experiences.
In a statement, Jessica said, "I am so excited to work with with Ben and NBC again, this time on a scripted comedy.
"I often find myself thinking that no one could ever make up the things that actually happen in my life—so between the real life elements and a great team of writers, I think we'll have people laughing!"
Fashion Star producer Electus and Universal Television are co-producing it, with Jessica's dad Joe Simpson signing on as an executive producer.
Ben Silverman, founder and chairman of Electus added, "We are thrilled to team up with the multi-talented Jessica Simpson to bring this new sitcom to life on NBC as she is truly a modern-day Lucy with incredible comedic chops.
"From running a fashion empire to wrangling her public image as a new mum, we see Jessica's character approach a variety of 'everyday' circumstances that will get audiences laughing out loud."
This will not be the first time the singer/reality star will attempt to break into comedy.
In 2004, Jessica was set to star in an ABC comedy about a former singer-actress who had become a news anchor. The pilot was ordered by the network but failed to make it to series.
Let's hope this one works out a bit better eh?
