Somewhere, Blake Lively is crying into those named-for-her Louboutins, as she's missed out on the chance to play Carrie Bradshaw in a new series.
According to all the press surrounding The Carrie Diaries' pilot, Blake should have been a shoe-in for the role. But she's signed up to Gossip Girl still, while another name touted - Elizabeth Olsen - is doing far too well with her film career to think about a Sex and the City prequel.
So, who is the girl that's playing the 80s-style Carrie?
18-year-old AnnaSophia Robb won the role, despite not really looking much like Sarah Jessica Parker, but this is a teened up version of the original series' cast - the Bratz doll versions, if you will.
AnnaSophia played Violet Beauregarde in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory with Johnny Depp, and also played real-life inspiration Bethany Hamilton in Soul Survivor - a surfer who kept on surfing despite losing her arm in a shark attack.
If the pilot goes well, there's a chance it could become a series. Do any of us truly care about a teenage Carrie Bradshaw though? Time will tell…
Will there be quotes as good as these classic Sex and the City ones?
