Actress Kristen Stewart has decided to take a turn behind the camera by directing a music video, but not before wigging out she couldn't do it.

"I've been saying I want to direct movies since I was 10 years old," Stewart told Rolling Stone. "And then I started making movies and working with such incredible people that I realised what I was up against."

Kristen said she was reluctant to try until band Sage + the Saints approached her to direct their music video.

"Basically, I'm grateful to Sage," says KStew, "because she was like, 'I have this little thing, no one could tell the story better than you…Just do it and stop being such a p*ssy.'"

But now, she is keen to take a break from acting and "explore this avenue of my life," confessing she has been writing a 'couple of shorts' she's keen to do.

Does this mean we won't see any new movies from the Twilight starlet for a while? Sure sounds that way.

But before all that, she has some deep but important lessons to share about being successful. We're all ears.

Kristen Stewart's guide to being a boss

  • "Missed opportunities are the most gut-wrenching, painful, nauseating thing."

  • "It's about being able to always, always, always sniff out bullsh*t and refuse to eat it."

  • "You honour whatever you're working on so much that to make a mockery of it would be so principally wrong."

  • "If I'm going to put that much time in, it needs to be something I'd die for."

Here's a first look at KStew getting her directing on:
