Women failed to get a single nomination in seven high profile Academy Award categories, according to the Women's Media Centre.

151 men were nominated compared to just 31 women across the 19 non-performance categories.

The categories where women received zero nominations include Directing, Cinematography, Film Editing and Music (Original Score), all of which had no women nominees last year as well.

This American actress got straight to the point...
According to a study by San Diego State University's Centre for the Study of Women in Television and Film, there's a "Celluloid Ceiling" in the movie industry that women just can't crack.

Only 16% of all directors, executive producers, producers, writers, cinematographers and editors on the top 250 grossing films of 2013 were women. Now that's depressing.

There's even a gender pay gap in Hollywood to contend with. Grumble.
