Bob Geldof has appeared on television for the first time since the death of Peaches Geldof in April this year.

Speaking on Lorraine he discussed the grief and how impossible it is to come to terms with.

He said, "Well, there's not many options… it's intolerable… it's very hard as everybody must realise, especially if it happened to them too, and then what else do you do, you get on with it."

One of the saddest things about Peaches Geldof's untimely death, is the two children she leaves behind.

At such young ages - both Astala and Phaedra are under three-years-old - they will likely have no living memories of their mother.

Bob explained, "They are young enough, you know this terrible expression, to be able to build an emotion relationships away from the primary relationship with the mother.

"My Mum died when I was six or seven, I have no memory of her but as you say, the world has moved on."
