People spend an hour a day slacking off at work - make it count.

If you are reading this during the day - you're either skiving or have decided that working for a living just isn't for you. Nature will provide.

If it's the first, don't feel guilty - you are not alone. Research has found the average person slacks off for one hour a day and wastes it on Facebook.

But instead of stalking your old school friends online - you could be putting that hour to good use.

GET THE MOST OUT OF AN HOUR


1. Learn a language


Just one hour a day could get you fluent in no time. Just think, one hour a day, five days a week, for say 40 weeks = 200 hours of language lessons. Très Bien.

2. Workout at your desk


Sure if you started doing squats at your desk, your boss would probably know you were slacking, but you can do a discreet workout without drawing attention to yourself by doing exercises like bum clenches.

3. Rule at Christmas


Christmas is coming. Get super organised and smug with gift buying, recipe ideas and planning which Christmas market you'll be visiting.

4. Watch all the trailers for this years Oscar contenders


Become a right little know-it-all in the run up to Oscars season by watching all the hotly-tipped film trailers. Such as the Coen brothers new Inside Llewyn Davis:



5. Learn to spell proper


Keep a list of all the words you misspell throughout the day and just like in school - practice them until the English language is your puppet.

6. Clear your inbox


This may strictly still be considered work, but taking time from your to-do list to clear that bulging inbox will make life much more bearable.

7. Finally master the cups song





8. Sort out your finances


Do you have a pension? Have you sorted out your credit card? Then get on it. Smart women are smart about their finances.

9. Keep up with your correspondence


That friend that moved to Mexico, your mum, your sister at uni in America - bring back penpalling with scented pens, pretty paper and all.
