Since Charlie Hunnam was announced as the official Christian Grey for new Fifty Shades of Grey movie, we've heard an opinion on the casting from every man and his dog.
Except of course, from Charlie himself. Until now.
While hitting the premiere of Sons of Anarchy's sixth season in Hollywood last night, the actor discussed his new gig with the The Hollywood Reporter.
So why did he want to become Christian Grey? "As soon as we got in the room and started reading with Dakota, I knew that I definitely wanted to do it, because there was a tangible chemistry between us," says the actor.
"It felt kind of exciting and fun and weird and compelling, and so that was it."
But how does girlfriend Morgana McNelis feel about the kinky new job, eh?
"It's very hard to be with an actor. She's required to share parts of me that she wouldn't really want to share.
"With the nature of this role, that's going to be times 10," Charlie pointed out.
"[But] she read [the scripts] and loved them and was really excited about the potential of the opportunity for me. If anything, I think it will make us closer. "
While we doubt watching our own blokes perform BDSM scenes on a cinema screen would feel like a bonding experience, we hope Charlie's right! What do you think?
