Matthew Williamson has done just that and it looked fabulous.
So we suggest robbing all his ideas, it's fine we're stealing Whitney Port's too!
The importance of lighting
It's essential to sort out some mood lighting, just make sure it's not too moody, you don't want to spend the evening straining your eyes and knocking over drinks when the sun goes down.
Lanterns and fairy lights are always a good option.
Make sure you've got some comfortable seating
Cushions galore! Your guests may start out on their feet but eventually everyone wants to have a sit down, especially if you're serving them some delicious, but messy, food.
Keep things colourful
You may not be a fan of bright pink gazebos, but it's worth keeping things fun and fresh. Even if your colour scheme is muted, accents will keep things summery.
Bring the inside outside
Don't be afraid to bring furniture or soft furnishings outside from the house, it will give your guests the impression that you're outside to stay. No one wants people straggling back into the living room.
Just keep an eye on the weather!
