Subject: Probably pregnant and no idea how to start- ectopic pregnancy concern.
Hi, I'm new and in serious need of a chat! My mum's broadband is down and I can't reach her, and I'm not sure I want to talk to any of my female friends just yet. My best friend is male, and though he's amazing I need to be with people with ovaries!

Joking aside... my boobs started hurting a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't missed a period and they were both evenly achy so I ignored it and put it down to working too hard and possibly my period being due (it was about a week before). It did occur to me I could be pregnant but I've always strongly suspected I was infertile- I had a pituitary tumour a while back which messed up my hormones and my boyfriend and I went through a long phase of not using contraception (I know, I know, we're stupid) and nothing ever happened. I did a test last week around the day my period was due and it was negative.

I've had an incredibly busy/physically active week since, I'm starting a new business, and had slight stomach pains which I put down to pre-period cramps. It was only last night when I finished work that I realised they'd been going on too long with no bleeding. I did a test a hour ago and whoomp- two pink lines straight away. Counting from the day of my last period this makes me 5 weeks and 3 days.

I can't really believe it. Looking back, over the last week I've been ACTING pregnant. I was shielding my achy stomach from people on the Tube and I even found myself not taking my vitamins- I just instinctively felt that I shouldn't be taking high doses of anything.

I know I now need to go to the doctor and get it confirmed plus find out if I should be worried about this lower stomach ache. I am concerned it could be an ectopic pregnancy but all the things I've looked up describe the pain as sharp and stabbing where mine is very light, dull and quite constant. Is it possible that I could just be very sensitive to the presence of the embryo? My boobs started hurting when I would have been only two weeks gone.
