Subject: Help with writing an appeal letter to DLA
Hi

Please could someone help me with writing my appeal letter to the dla.

I have contacted the doctors today for a letter to support my appeal letter and she said they dont do this any more. She told me just to write that i have spoken to my doctors who as asked you to contact her directly for any information you need about my illness, she said she will then complete a form.

I have since completing my form startin seeing a counciler for my illness should i add this to my letter?

See previous thread "they are trying to remove our benefits". On it there is a web site mentioned. It is very helpful and although there is a small annual charge for some of the advice (it is a charitable organisation), I cannot recommend this site strongly enough. It has helped me no end and I have retrieved said cost a hundred fold. Without them I would never have been as successful in claiming my deserved benefits. Also, you mention a counsellor, could they help?

Hello Everyone,

I have had to go through this process on numerous occassions. Both my sons appeals and my own were initially refused and we had to appeal. I did originally get help from the Citizens Advice Bearux who were very good. However, they did seem a bit busy, with lots of other clients to try to deal with.

I obviously wanted the best help that I could cos we are dependant on our DLA, so I used a company called www.help2appeal.co.uk and we won both appeals. I really can not reccommend their services enough. The talked us through thew appeal, helped us to get medical evidence and prepared a written argument in support of our appeal.

If you are struggling to get the help you need then this service is the best way forward. They really helped me and my son and am sure they will make the difference to your appeal also.

Best of luck all. Jan xx

Hi,

I know your post is from last year but I thought I still write back with some advise. I do hope that you have got your DLA through in the mean time, if not good luck with it.

Right, you can get help with filling in forms or writing to DLA from WELLFAIR RIGHT.
Wellfair Right is a volunteer organisation who working with people who need help with any kind of Forms, from Job seeker allowens to DLA. You will find this organisation in nearly every town. If you want to find out if there is 1 near to you, have a look on internet or call your local council who can help with this.
Wellfair Right is great and they have helped me when I had to go for a tribunal with DLA. They wont let you down and theyeven go with you for court or anywhere u need to go to get your right.

Hope that helped a bit
