Hello everyone,

I need some inspiration! What are you girlies having for favors at your wedding? I'm trying not to have any thing edible as we are having a Candy bar full of chocolates, sweets, cakes, cookies etc so was looking for something that people could take home with them instead.

I'm trying to think of if i was at a wedding, what sort of object would I think "oooo what a great favor, i am definately going to be taking that home", I just dont want to be left with 100 paperweights, or fancy mirrors etc at the end of the night! So I basically need some inspiration and ideas on a non edible favor that people would definately take home! Was thinking of a miniture bottle of my fav perfume for the girls and the OH's fav aftershave for the boys but dont want it to look like my wedding is being sponsored by the perfume make, if you know what i mean!

honestly? most people don't remember favours anyway, so I'd leave them out alltogether. If you really want to have something on the tables, how about donating whatever amount you had budgeted for the favours to a charity close to your heart and having a little note on every table stating that instead of favours you decided to donate to the charity?

We had little candles with our names and wedding date (one per couple roughly) on the tables, but to be honest, if I could do it again, I wouldn't bother. We had a load of them left at the end of the night, I think the only people who kept them were really good friends and relatives.

We had wine glass charms. I got them on eBay for next to nothing and the lady who sold them to me made sure that there weren't two alike. A lot of our guests didn't know what they are or what they are for but when explained, everyone thought they were a brilliant idea and wanted to take them home.

I got them from http://stores.shop.ebay.ie/Essesea__W0QQ_armrsZ1 and couldn't recommend them more.

We made a donation to a cancer hospice in place of favours in memory of my husbands mum. We felt that people wouldn’t miss them and we wanted to use the money for something worthwhile.

We went to a wedding recently where each person had a little photo frame with a piece of paper with their name on in it which doubled up as a favour and a place mat – they were really nice.

I'm getting married next year and we are intending to give all the ladies favours (as this was the original tradition) and we are going to give them a little heather for them to plant in their gardens to always remember our wedding.

We are Scottish hence the heather but this could work with a little tree seed or something?

I totally understand where the other posters are coming from saying that people don't really remember favours but I honestly do remember the ones that are a little bit special.

Something I saw another couple use as their weddings favours...a potential winning lottery ticket for each guest. I can't see anyone leaving one of those behind.
